The Students of Timor build team in Dili

The mission

Why we built it

The problem

Most schools in Timor-Leste still run on paper. The schools that don’t use foreign software that costs more than a teacher’s salary and doesn’t speak Tetum.

The fix

A free, Tetum-first platform built and hosted in Timor-Leste, with the software cost covered by the Of Timor group.

Who's behind it

A Dili engineering team

A Dili engineering team

Full-time engineers based in Dili. Tetum, Portuguese and English are all spoken in the office.

Education advisors

Education advisors

Headmasters and curriculum staff from EBC, ESG and EST schools advise on every release.

The Of Timor group

The Of Timor group

The group’s tourism, retail and payments businesses fund the engineering and hosting cost.

What we believe

Three principles

MoE retains control

MoE keeps full read access for inspections, sets retention policies, and can require export or deletion at any time.

Tetum first

Tetum is not a checkbox. Every screen ships in Tetum on day one or it doesn’t ship.

Free, not freemium

No tiered features. No “Pro” plan that quietly costs more later. Public schools pay zero.
